Low Carbohydrate beer
« on: December 17, 2019, 07:35:02 AM »
I've come up with following recipe:

If any of u got some advice for bringing down the FG further, please let me know :)
I've  tried  longer Mash time and different temps in BF, but nothing changed the FG.

Also, i found that Saflager S-189 took it down one more point, so i might try that yeast insted :-\

This will be my first brew with amyloglucosidase, so i hope that the "RBR" will be ok.

the couple lagers i brewed with W34/70 only got to 1.010.
I would keep your mash temp under 65.5c for the whole mash.
maybe hold the D-rest another day or two
maybe sub more dextrose in.
I havent had a beer get under 1.005 yet
my lager/pilsner right now is sitting at 1.011
primary was at 11.1C and D-rest at 17C for 5 days cold crashing now at 1C
I used WLP800 with a 2l starter.
Keg 1- Red Dog IPA
Keg 2- coconut brown
Keg 3- Peach Sour
Keg 4- Neveu Saison
Keg 5- ESB
Keg 6-
Keg 7- Curieux Dog

Thank you Combat32! it's probaply a good idea to have a longer D-rest.
I've adjusted that now.

The new recipe is as follows:

since im adding a vial of AMYLOGLUCOSIDASE, should be down to a FG of: 0,998 (Calculated by BF)

I've never used this mush dextrose (25%) in a batch before, but i hope that the sweetner (100g of Erythritol) wil compansate a little.

If any of you got some thoughts on this, please let me know.
