I love how this recipe calls for "Leaf home grown"

That sounds so bad, but sounds so good !

I think I'm going to try this recipe because I love Magnum and also Columbus for bittering.

But that's not what makes this recipe interesting . . . Combat32 is using 5 (yes 5) other hop varieties near the end of the boil for flavor and aroma.

Wow that's so awesome.  Especially after Jaymcmlxx weighed in and said this beer is great.

thanks guys
I used my home grown Cascade hops, to me they give it more flavor and aroma.
I did a different brew with just the home grown hops and it was juicy lol like biting into a  grapefruit/orange.
again this is still a work in progress, i like my malt bill, but I have changed the hops 3x now.
That keg went very fast, but the bottle Craigtube tried was about 3 months old.
so it did change a little.
anyway if anyone brews it I hope you like and enjoy it

I'm really enjoying Combat32's Drooling Dog.

This IPA has a surprisingly malty flavor despite the 77 IBUs and mashing at a lower temp of 150'f which I thought would produce a drier flavor.

Not that this is a porter or a stout, but those 2 styles are also misleading if someone simply looks at the IBU number.

The SRM is on the darker side of an IPA.  Darker than straw, but certainly not far from a pale color.

My friends that have tried the Drooling Dog IPA have also enjoyed this brew.  Primarily because they describe it as "not bitter and slightly sweeter" than most craft brews.

So the bottom line is . . .

-  Would I brew this again?   Yes

-  Is this a homebrew that I would consider serving at a family event to the non-believers of craft beers?  Definitely YES ! ! !

Thx Combat32 for coming up with this unique recipe.

thanks Black Dog for the review.
The honey malt in the grain bill, I think it adds the sweetness at the finish.
